American Idol is over. I will admit I am a fan. I TIVO it every week in case something really juicy happens then I can go back and watch while I am doing laundry. I probably need a life or maybe a job! Mike cringes every week When he hears the theme song, it is like some kind of repellent he can't get away fast enough. I never vote. Toby, Tessa and I sit down to watch. Travis always watches also, but after the fact. I was very shocked that David Cook won. I thought all those text messaging jr. high girls would have racked up enough votes that surely David A. would have been a shoe-in! I guess the good thing is that they will both get record deals!
Tessa and Toby are going to go take the test to get their permits today after school. I will be scared for my life every time I have to drive anywhere for the next 6 months! Please pray for me!!!!! Tessa will be 18 in July so she will be able to go ahead and get her license as soon as she has her birthday. Then everyone else on the roads can be scared! Toby's birthday is in January I will probably get some relief around August (from being scared that is!). I told Mike that I would teach the class room part and he could do the driving part. He just turned up the T.V. louder. I know what that means!!! They don't have school tomorrow so if they don't pass the test today we will study tonight and go back tomorrow. I really am hoping that they remember everything and pass. We have studied alot! Oh. Tessa got a job, we are so proud.

Slugs are not my friend!
Slugs! Yuck!
I found the greatest deal!!! 60 Caladium bulbs for $14. at Sam's Club!!!!! I planted them in our courtyard. It is the hardest place to grow anything, we have lived in our house for almost 5 years and this is the first success growing anything. I have tried just about every shade loving plant know to man. They all die or get eaten - no matter what I do. I have not been able to figure out what the problem was. Well that has all come to an end!!! Slugs! That is the problem. They are not my friend. I have declared war on them. I went to Walmart and got some snail and slug killer. Sprinkled it out yesterday. This is what I found today. Grosss!!!! but thankfully dead or dying! just thought I would share. And I must say my caladiums are coming up and they look fabulous darling!

Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Self control!
We are counting down to Tessa's graduation. June 5Th. The Webb's from Corpus Christi will be coming up on the 4Th for the big event. We will have fun and eat too much!. Tessa and I were trying to think of somethings we could do while they are here that would be fun. Pretty much anything at the lake or outdoors is out. We were thinking maybe we would take everyone to the Beltonian to see a movie. I guess it depends on what is showing, and of course there will be the Salado shopping excursion. Always fun but I never buy anything. I think by the time I look at all the stores I am so overwhelmed that I can't bring myself to make a decision on anyone item. Also pretty much everything in Salado would be considered a want not a need and I just can't justify spending the money. I am probably not much fun to shop with! But I do love to look and eating lunch out is always a plus!!!
Last week I went to the gym everyday but one. This week my goal is to go everyday and eat low carbs as well. I have such a hard time working out and eating right. I get so hungry. I really hate being hungry! What a shocker! Right!
Church was good yesterday. The sermon was on persecution. It was very current to today's headlines and very convicting. Being persecuted is not what most of us look forward to or even what to think about, but the fact of the matter is this. - If you are a bible believing, born again Christian, that is actively seeking God. You will at some point on some level face persecution. The bible is very clear on this subject in John 16.
I had a conversation last night with my mother-in-law. We were talking about the senior citizens at their church. She was mentioning how grippy and difficult so many of them are and how they always want their own way. This made me really stop and think.
1. If you are a Christian and the purpose of your life is to become more Christlike with time, from actively seeking Christ in bible study, prayer, etc.
2. Wouldn't it stand to reason that by the time you become a senior citizen that instead of becoming grippy and grumpy and difficult. You honestly should be showing more fruit of the spirit than ever before?
This made me stop and ask myself a few questions! As a person in my almost mid 40's are there areas of my personality that are grippy, grumpy and difficult. Of course according to my teenage children - Yes - there are many!
Well I guess I will not only be hitting the gym, but I will be hitting the floor with my knee's!

Happy Mothers Day!
Last night my Aunt and Uncle came in from Amarillo, Texas, and my Aunt Virgina came in from Bryan. We had supper and a really good time! Here are some pictures of the evening. It is to bad that everyone lives so far away. We always have a good time when we get together.
Aunt Virgina, Mom, Aunt Ava!
Mom and Uncle Bub are like clones, I want to know who does Virgina take after?

What Do You Want?
Sunday evening at our church, First Baptist Church of Belton, we had a young woman that came and told her story. She and her husband were missionaries in Iraq right after the fall of Baghdad. I won't even try to tell her story, she was shot 22 times and her husband was killed. It was one of the most moving stories I have heard in a long time. Her name was Carrie McDonnell, I walked away from that church service very moved and challenged by what I had heard. I will be the first to admit that I have a wiggly personality! I like things that are new and original. I am curious, and intense. Sometimes this is a very challenging personality to have and be a part of a traditional Baptist Church.
When I go to church this is what I want...
I want to be led into worship to the throne of God.
I want to experience joy and excitement.
I want to have my toes stepped on.
I want to be encouraged to get into God's word.
I want to hear the truth of Jesus Christ in very specific terms!
I want to hear what God's word says on every current topic and headline!
I want to be given very specific help/instructions on how to live the Christian life. I think they call this practical application!!!!
I want to walk away from hearing the Word of God from the Holy Bible spoken in such a way that I remember it through out the week and strive to live up to the challenge of it.
I want to hear the message of salvation, but that is not all I want to hear!
I just want more of God!!!
I want friends that want more of God!!!
I understand that this is some kinda list!!! Kind of like Proverbs 30. It probably can't all be done in one day! I also understand that no church, church member, pastor, music minister is perfect!
I also know that the one on one time that I spend with the God during the week will be a direct reflection on my worship experience on Sunday.
I believe that God's word is a plumb line of truth for the born-again Christian life. When God's truth is presented it should be a mark that we look at and line our lives up by it.
God's Word is the truth. The bible says that it is alive. Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper that any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. " I really believe that when we hear or read the truth of God it will move us to action. If we choose to believe it!
I also believe that the Bible is absolute truth and lives forever.
Psalms 119:160 "All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal."
Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Well right or wrong this is where I am...J'net

Wow! What a weekend. So on Friday, Mike went to the Dr. at 8:05 a.m. What a shocker He had an outter ear infection. I have never heard of such a thing. His ear looked like Will Smith's ear in Hitch when he had the allergic reaction!!! Well maybe not that big, but it was swollen. So he was home for the day. I think the last time I have seen him so sick was when he was 35 and caught the chicken pox from the kids! Not pretty!!! Toby went the Air Show at the airport with his friend. They ended up spending the whole weekend out there. Ate a lot of junk and got a lot of sun. Had a blast!
So off and on all evening Terra would call she was on the road from Nashville to Little Rick. So we would check the radar for her because she was right in the middle of all the bad weather that was happening that direction. You can read her play by play. Believe me she will tell it much better than I can - www.terrastune.blogspot.com
Saturday was CRAZYYY!!!. I got up and started cleaning house, like I do everyday, talked to Terra, she left the hotel in Arkadelphia Arkansas. Can you just imagine how they came up with that name? I mean just hear in it in your mind. That strong slow southern accent........Ark-a-del-phia! Okay back on track!...Woke up Tessa! It is PROM day. So she had a hair appointment at 1:00 at the mall. At the mall she gets her hair done up in a true southern bell updo! The hair dresser only used 120 bobby pins, So I get a call from MOM, dad is out hunting Wild Hogs, no, really actual pigs that live in the wild, and she is bored. So she heads to the mall. We meet up and have some movie theater pop corn with we watch the show, the one at the hair salon. Then we get a call from Terra she is almost to Temple and is going to meet us at the mall.
Terra catches up with us. Tessa finishes with the "do", and off we go back home to begin the ritual of the nails, jewelry, makeup and dressing. During this time Travis moves back in to the house from the Dorm and with Travis comes a lot of dirty clothes and a revolving door for all of his friends. 3 hours later we meet up with the other Prom queens and their mothers. Take about a million pictures. Tessa and friends go to the prom and Terra and I head out at 9:00 p.m. to the church to begin preparation for the lunch I have to cater at noon on Sunday!
Sunday went well. I was at the church by 8a.m. Was ready to go by 7 because I had to paint a pair of Salt and Pepper shakers for someone by 9:00 a.m. Needless to say Mike ended having to go into work (swollen ear and all) so they didn't get delivered. Oh Well. tommorrow is another day. Thank goodness!
The lunch went well. The menu was Baked chicken breast with a creamed celery gravy (got rave review!) or ham with spiced glaze, bacon/onion seasoned green beans and loaded baked potatoes and hot rolls(wheat, of course) and for desert I served Homemade peach cobbler and Chocolate chip cake. We actually ended up with more people than they expected but we had just the right amount of food.
So hear I am, Monday morning, Terra just drove out of the drive way headed to Corpus Christi, and Andrew (a.k.a. Lover Lips) and Tessa and Toby went to school. Travis is still in bed and Mike is back at work. I think my problem is that things are in such chaos I am not sure where to start! I think I will start with breakfast!!!
